There are several possible reasons: The file name or path does not exist checked, verified, they both do and are correct , The file is being used by another program checked, verified, file was not being used by anything else, only ever touched the file to place it from Downloads into its current folder , The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook checked, verified, it was a new, blank workbook and unique in total, only just created it before installing the add-on.

If you move the file containing the Real Statistics software, then Excel may get confused.

The usual reason for receiving this message is that the software has been downloaded but not installed. If the software is installed correctly, then when you select AddIns from the Tools menu, you should see RealStats and Solver on the list of add-ins with check marks next to them.
